New Bolton Woods Planning Applications Submitted

In November 2014 Canal Road Urban Village Ltd. (CRUVL) submitted a”hybrid planning application” for New Bolton Woods. This is for a mixed use masterplan consisting of up to 1000 new houses, a local centre with shops, health centre, a new primary school, sports pitches and green spaces as well as new public squares and a new small foodstore. The application is called hybrid as part of it is in “detail” and part is in “outline”. The detailed part is for the access points and the buildings that are proposed to be demolished. The rest of the application is applied for in “outline”, and includes where development will take place, how tall the buildings can be and their proposed uses.

The application can be viewed online on the planning portal. The planning application will take several months to be assessed by Bradford’s planning department. The Application reference is: 14/04818/MAF. Please follow this link and search for application no. 14/04818/MAF to see the application and make comments.

A separate “detailed planning application” has also been submitted for the retail development of the small foodstore in the local centre. Please follow this link and search for the application using reference no. 14/04817/MAF.

New Bolton Woods – Pre Application Exhibition

We’ll be back in Bradford on Wednesday 16th July with an exhibition of our final masterplan and proposals for New Bolton Woods!

Our team on behalf of CRUVL (Canal Road Urban Village Limited – a partnership between URBO Regeneration and Bradford MDC) are due to submit a planning application for the whole site in August 2014. Since our public consultation events took place last year, the team have been drawing up details for the planning application and have also been involved in a number of discussions to resolve some issues and refine the scheme prior to making the application.

Subsequently some small changes have been made to the masterplan and we would like to invite you to a public exhibition on Wednesday 16th July where we will be showcasing our final masterplan and explaining the next steps for delivery of the project.

We will be holding two sessions and you will be able to drop in anytime between 12-6:30pm or 7-9pm. Members from the team will be on hand to take you through proposals and answer any questions you may have.

The details for the two session are as follows:

Wednesday 16th July

  • 12pm – 6:30pm
Bolton Woods Community Centre, Livingstone Road, BD2 1BD
    Drop-in Exhibition
  • 7pm – 9pm
Poplars Farm School, Poplars Road, BD2 1LQ
Drop-in Exhibition in the School hall

We hope to see you there and would appreciate if you could pass this message onto anyone whom you think would be interested in attending!

Please take a look at the exhibition material below:

New Bolton Woods Update

The New Bolton Woods team have been making good progress over the last six months. Following the granting of planning consent for Phase 1 of the scheme a year ago, the main focus has been to get the first homes on site. We are pleased to say that this is now progressing well as is evident from all the activity on the site. Our delivery partners for the first 46 houses are Skipton Homes and these will all be fully built before the end of this year. They are available for sale now and can be viewed on Skipton Properties’ web site: http://www.skiptonproperties.com/Developments/BoltonWoods/#

In terms of the wider masterplan the main focus of our work has been to prepare for making a planning application for the entire project in Summer this year. We have been delayed due to some technical matters but as with the first housing, we have still been able to make some delivery progress. This should result in early development of a new food store in the Local Centre and provision of a new, full-sized high quality all-weather sports pitch. Both of these could be completed by early next year.  The planning application is likely to be submitted later in the summer and we expect to present more details on the revised plans to the local community before the submission.

Thank you to everyone who attended!

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the residents who attended the consultations sessions over the last few days. We would also like to thanks both Bolton Woods Community Centre and Poplars Farm Primary School for hosting these events. For those  unable to attend, there is an online version of the presentation below and you can also view the exhibition boards.

We will be collecting comments over the next four weeks until 19th April and there are a few ways of getting in touch:

We look forward to hearing from you.
